Norman Stein & Associates, Inc. has implemented a comprehensive safety program to assure employee, customer, and sub-contractor safety. Our goals are to train, maintain, update, and reinforce good, professional, safe work practices. In order to accomplish the above stated goals, both in the shop and on-site at our customers' facilities, we will perform the following:
Hold regular safety and training meetings Involve all personnel in safety matters and issues Conduct thorough accident and "near miss" investigations Enforce safety disciplinary measure Insist on a mandatory substance abuse monitoring program Comply with applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations
Norman Stein & Associates, Inc. is committed to a safe work environment for our customers, sub-contractors, and employees. In keeping with this commitment, we train employees to know the value of safe work practices. We offer our employees monthly safety meetings, weekly "on-site toolbox safety meetings", and the 10-hour OSHA Contractor safety training. In addition, all of our employees are regularly drug screened. We bring all of our own safety equipment on-site including: confined space, lockout/tag out, fall prevention gear, and oxygen monitors. We perform a pre-job safety risk assessment to evaluate and minimize any hazards prior to starting a job. Norman Stein & Associates us a member of Michigan's "MUST" (Management and Unions Serving Together) safety program. Norman Stein & Associates, Inc.'s written safety program is available to any employee, customer, or subcontractor. Copies of the safety manual are also available in the plant office and in the employee break room. The general topics and basic subjects that N.S.& A.' s safety manual addresses are the following:
Indoctrination and familiarization training for new employees General safety program and work permit procedures Use and care of employee personal protective equipment (PPE) Good housekeeping practices Substance abuse First aid and blood-borne pathogen awareness Hazards awareness program Hearing conservation Electrical safety and lock out- tag out Work in confined space Small fire safety Emergency response
